    We are Proscenium

Proscenium was founded in 2011 because we wanted to help brands perform

    • The Proscenium team and clients gathered on a rooftop terrace
Our clients deliver their messaging in ways that are impactful and entertaining.
    • The full Proscenium team, as a grid of headshots
Our staff is enabled to create the most exciting, award-winning work of their careers.
    • A packed audience at a Proscenium-produced live show
We give our audiences shows that teach them, challenge them, and move them.

We ask “what do we want the attendees to DO when they get back home?” and work backwards from there. By doing this, we help the world’s biggest brands present their best selves to their most important audiences.

We are experts in helping you achieve your objective. Live events are costly, and we help ensure you get the most value for your spend.

    Client Circle

At Proscenium we are very proud of the fact that our clients are our partners, and it’s important to us that they get to know each other and learn from each other.

To help accomplish that, we created an ongoing “salon-like” platform for them to come together and brainstorm ideas across various industries. Every year we sponsor what we call Client Circle where the senior leadership of corporate communications for our major brand partners join us for a day and a half discussion on innovation and best practices within the Events industry. It’s become an incredibly beneficial learning experience for all involved, and we are fortunate to be able to provide this value add to our clients.

    Frequently asked questions

    What does proscenium mean?

pro·sce·ni·um (n): The supporting arch at the front of a stage through which the audience experiences a performance.

pro·sce·ni·um (n): A different kind of experiential event marketing agency in NYC — one that helps brands perform and comes in on-brand, on-budget, and on-time.

What brands does Proscenium work with?

Since our founding in 2011, Proscenium has worked with some of the world's biggest and most impactful brands including: Charles Schwab, Harley-Davidson, Heineken, JetBlue, Johnson & Johnson, Lowe's, Penske, Qualcomm, Samsung, SAP, TD Ameritrade, T-Mobile, Yahoo!, Walmart, and many others.

What makes Proscenium different from other experiential marketing agencies?

There are many things that make Proscenium different from other experiential marketing agencies, but here are 5 big ones:

    1. Our 4 key offerings of strategy, production, content, and creative allow us to do much more than simply produce the event — we partner with our clients to make their messaging as impactful as possible, ensuring they get the most value for their spend.

    2. We charge no markup for any gear or hard goods. We only charge our clients for the time, expertise, and talent of our team.

    3. We start by asking what we want the audience to do differently when they go home, and ladder everything up to that.

    4. Our budgeting process is fully transparent, so our clients always know where every dollar they spend is going.

    5. Our creative directors all come from theater, and understand how to get the most out of a live presentation.

What types of events does Proscenium produce?

Proscenium produces all sorts of events, including: B2B Meetings, B2E Meetings, Client Events, Customer Experiences, Dealer Meetings, Employee Meetings, Headliner Concerts, Hybrid Events, Incentive Events, Investor Meetings, Product Launches, Sales Meetings, Shareholder Meetings, User Conferences, and Virtual Events.

Does Proscenium handle strategy and creative, or just execution?

Proscenium's 4 pillars are: Strategy, Production, Content, and Creative. Sometimes, we only handle production for a client, sometimes we do all four, or any combination in between.

Can Proscenium support live, hybrid, and virtual events?

We sure can. We can produce live, hybrid, and virtual events.

What services are included in Proscenium's event production capabilities?

Our core competencies are Strategy, Production, Creative, and Content.

How does Proscenium approach event budgeting and pricing?

Proscenium's approach to budgeting and pricing includes 3 fundamental principles:

    1. Full Transparency — you will always know where every dollar is being spent and exactly where we are in the budgeting spend relative to forecast. The only way the budget changes is if you authorize a change in scope, in which case we issue a Project Change Notice (PCN).

    2. No Markup — we charge no markup for any gear or hard goods. We only charge our clients for the time, expertise, and talent of our team.

    3. No Surprises — there are never any surprises in terms of budgeting on a Proscenium-produced event.

How early should Proscenium be involved in the event planning process?

Every event is different. We have produced high-budget, extremely complicated events for some of the world's biggest brands in just a few weeks. While this is not ideal, it's sometimes what's necessary and, of course, the audience never knows how quickly it all came together. The bottom line: we can make anything work.

Can Proscenium work with our existing agency or internal team?

Yes — Proscenium plays very well with others, and is happy to share the sandbox. Sometimes we do everything. Sometimes we are the lead agency among a group of agencies. And sometimes another agency is the lead. We adapt to the needs of each event.

Does Proscenium only work on large-scale events?

No. We like to show off as much as the next agency, but we're more than happy to do smaller shows as well.

Can Proscenium manage complex, multi-part event programs?

Yes. Sometimes brands hire us to produce their general session room and have different agencies take care of other aspects of the event. We love producing keynotes. The more control and influence we have over other aspects of the event, however, the more we can ensure that the entire event is cohesive and consistent.

    Where has Proscenium produced events?

Proscenium's office is in New York City, with full-time staff members strategically located across the country. We are a global agency and conduct most of our business in the U.S.A. in cities with hub airports, convention centers, and large hotels (Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Orlando, Miami, San Diego, San Francisco, New Orleans, Los Angeles). While we primarily operate domestically, we can and do operate globally. We have produced events in cities such as Manila, Hong Kong, Beijing, Barcelona, Rome, São Paulo, and Berlin.

How does Proscenium incorporate accessibility into events?

Accessibility is extremely important at Proscenium. From signage and stage design to captioning, audio descriptions, and sensory-friendly programming, we design for inclusion from the brief forward, and partner with accessibility consultants whenever a program's audience demands it. Learn more here.

Does Proscenium mark up vendor costs?

Nope. Never. Never ever. We only charge our clients for the time, expertise, and talent of our team — vendor and hard-goods costs pass through at cost, fully transparent, so you always know exactly where every dollar is going.

How do you help clients understand cost versus value?

We are not always the cheapest option available to our clients. But sometimes you get what you pay for. Our clients often find that we bring them so much more than they were expecting or were used to from their previous agency. From our design studio, to our team of creative directors, to our strategy specialists, we help brands perform in ways they never thought possible.

What's it like to work with Proscenium?

We pride ourselves on becoming an extension of your team. We don't replicate your job — we add to it. We'll take things off your plate, always make sure you know where we are in terms of process and budget, and we'll enable you to sleep well at night knowing we have your back every step of the way.

Is Proscenium dedicated to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging?

Yes, absolutely. All are respected and valued under the Proscenium arch. Our hiring, vendor selection, casting, and audience-experience design are guided by an active commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging — and we hold ourselves accountable through annual review of how those commitments show up in our work. Does Proscenium have a strategy around Sustainability practices?

Yes. Proscenium is committed to sustainability through reduce, recycle, and reuse principles. We use local and sustainable suppliers, minimize single-use plastics, utilize energy-efficient equipment like LED lighting and screens, and encourage carbon offset programs and charitable donations of event materials.
