Walmart Shows & Events
3 Days, 5 Events, Over 45,000 Seats Filled

With over $480 billion a year in revenue, Walmart would be the 27th largest country in the world. If Walmart were a country. Instead, it’s a retailer that puts on lots and lots of large events including their Year Beginning Meeting and Holiday Meeting each of which we produced in 2014 and 2015. These meetings, for their thousands of store managers, featured beautifully designed presentations for their executives, dozens of inspiring videos, immersive environments (including piped in aromas to set the mood – nothing says Christmas like the smell of pine needles and gingerbread), and products, products, and more products creatively placed in every nook and cranny.

But their largest event is their Shareholders week which includes 3 meetings and 2 concerts, and collectively fills over 45,000 seats. They have over 2.2 million employees, yet we managed to staff their event with 330 people. Three hundred and thirty people!

After all, we got to work with Pharrell, Robin Thicke, Sarah McLachlin, Aloe Blacc, Harry Connick Jr. Reese Witherspoon, Trisha Yearwood, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, Styx, Foreigner, ok, ok, now we’re just name dropping.

We’ve created flash mobs and video game playoffs. We’ve had break dancers, a capella groups, and magicians. We’ve produced dozens of videos, choreographed world encompassing flag parades, and directed multiple skits. We’ve used a veritable alphabet soup of cutting edge technology – from D3 to LED to 4K.

We’ve worked with Lego Men, Minions, Stormtroopers, and Dancing Chickens.

In short, we’ve had a lot of fun.

We are very proud of the fact that in 2015 we were their first ever Agency Of Record, and that in the past 2 years we have produced nearly 20 unique events for them. And when you’ve produced this many large scale events for the world’s largest company, there’s no event you can’t handle!

Review: "Our sincere thanks to the entire Proscenium team for their stellar work on Shareholders. The entire week was very well received by Walmart senior leadership, and most importantly, by our associates. We could not have made that happen without the solid production support and creative contributions of your team."
